What kinds of Special Educational Needs are provided for at St Michael's?
At St Michael’s it is fully recognised that all class teachers are the teachers of children with Special Educational Needs and disabilities (SEND). The kinds of SEN that are provided for are categorised into four broad areas of need: communication and interaction, cognition and learning, social, emotional and mental health difficulties and sensory and/or physical needs. In 2015 these categories include dyslexia, speech and language needs, ASD (Autism), ADHD, cerebral palsy and difficulties with social interaction.
