Forest School
We now have a level three forest school practiotioner on our school staff. We will begin to introduce elements of forest school learning using tools and the foest school principles. This will sit alongside our approach to active playtimes taking place every day and outdoor learning.
Active Play
As part of National Poetry Day children had the opprtunity to write poems around play. Below encapsulates our approach to active play beautifully.
All Children have wellies in school. We use our field and playground every day come rain or shine. The execptions are lightening, high winds and if rain is torrential. These occasions happen rarely so we are outside in the frresh air everyday, in all seasons..
Rainy Play
Rain is falling everywhere, but we don’t care.
So we pull up our hoods to cover our hair,
Shove on our wellies as fast as a flare.
Rain is falling everywhere, but we don’t care,
We want to play!
Play hide and seek and feel the rain falling on our cheeks.
Jump in muddy puddles and look at our boots going oops!
But who cares, we could pretend to be troops stomping in our boots!
Rain is falling everywhere, but still we play, twice a day.
Climbing high, jump jumping low, when the bell rings, off we go!
When the Sun comes out, we scream and shout
Hip hip hooray the Sun saved the day.
Let’s play!
