Below are some activity ideas for children with special needs and disabilities. Also included are tips on looking after yourself and talking to your children about the coronavirus. Some of the activities are online and children should be supervised. See our guidance on staying safe online.

There is a daily schedule of learning broken down into year groups
You might like to timetable the day focusing on work in the morning, with regular breaks, when children are fresh and receptive. The afternoons could include excercise, reading and a film, which can then have a written review written about it. Please also have a look at our Home Learning Creative activities page which we are currently developing with help from our PTA.
Think about all the learning that it would be useful to review and learn and consolidate in short bursts such as the following:
- Number bonds
- Multiplication tables (we subscribe to Times Tables Rock Stars to try and make this a fun way of learning a bedrock of mathematical learning.)
- Learning to tell the time using analogue and digital clocks
- Revising spellings
- Skills such as using scissors, rulers, folding paper try some origami

White Rose – free maths resources for home learning.
- Click on the set of lessons for your child’s year group.
- Watch the video (either on your own or with your child).
- Find a calm space where your child can work for about 20-30 minutes.
- Use the video guidance to support your child as they work through a lesson.

Gareth Metcalfe - Maths KS2
A leading creator of maths resources is running free maths lessons in KS2 every day during the school closures. He is also creating a bank of videos showing games to play with children in KS1. Please spread the word!
A new video will be posted here every day for Y3&4 and another for Y5&6. I'm anticipating making two videos for KS1 children each week also.
